06:42 pm - [18:23] <PontiusPirate> is america ready for a terrible bowler president?
[18:23] <PontiusPirate> fact: every President of the United States of America has had a bowling average of at least 130
[18:24] <Noser> bowling as we know it wasn't invented until the 19th century
[18:24] <PontiusPirate> bowling was kept under wraps by the secret service
[18:25] <@Doctor_Nick> he's a great basket ball player
[18:25] <@Doctor_Nick> terrible bowler
[18:26] <PontiusPirate> many believe that Warren G Harding's death was a ploy to keep him from bowling a perfect game, an event which would have cemented Republican control of the White House for another 20 years
[18:27] <@Doctor_Nick> :)
[18:28] <Noser> this is a good theory
[18:28] <Noser> how well did kennedy bowl
[18:28] <PontiusPirate> The fact is none of the current presidential candidates have a bowling average exceeding 70
[18:28] <PontiusPirate> kennedy averaged a 160 while in office
[18:28] <Noser> ron paul bowls a perfect game but the media doesn't publicize it
[18:29] <PontiusPirate> ron paul bowls a perfect game but he uses bumpers
[18:30] <PontiusPirate> many democrats are floating the idea of an Al Gore "Superman" type rescue of the democratic nomination not because he's immensely popular, but because his bowling average is an astonishing 240
[18:31] <PontiusPirate> Those who know about it resent him for losing the 2000 election by wagering on a bowling game with George Bush
[18:32] <PontiusPirate> while George Bush normally bowls a measly 150, he hit a lucky streak after falling off the wagon and returning to alcoholism
[18:33] <PontiusPirate> George Bush's signature move has a carbon footprint equivalent to that of a coal powered electrical plant, which weakened Al Gore, whose power is theorized to be derived directly from the environment, like captain planet
[18:35] <@Doctor_Nick> :)
[18:36] <PontiusPirate> Andrew Jackson relocated America's Native American population not because of growing land requirements, but because he envied their bowling prowess
[18:40] <PontiusPirate> one notable symbol found on the back of the one dollar bill originates from a tale of a bowling match between Alexander Hamilton and John Adams.  Hamilton lost the game because he missed the kingpin in the final frame, resulting in a loss by 1 pin.  When he realized he lost, he felt the lone kingpin 'staring him down, almost laughing at him'
[18:40] <PontiusPirate> Hence the pyramid with the separated eyeball top piece

04:06 pm - I am bored.
The school semester's over and now I'm bored as a butt. After finals week I found myself with a lot of time and nothing to do, and I have no motivation or inspiration. So I'm askin you guys to give me some ideas for shit to do this week in order to entertain myself.

I recently had the opportunity to play through the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series, and I've got to say, I enjoyed the writing a lot. I'm actually looking forward to Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney in February, to entertain me until Grand Theft Auto IV comes out in March. If you haven't played any Ace Attorney games, you really should, because they're not only entertainingly written, but they're also a good test of logic and perception (at least, the courtroom bits are. I hate the investigation sections). Also it's really fun to yell "Objection!" and "Hold It!"

Also I'm going to the Flaming Lips concert in OKC on NYE. It's gonna be the tits!

02:39 pm - I hate university life
So this semester is coming to a close and unless something disastrous happens, next semester I can take it easy with only 4 classes. Unfortunately the dumb college of engineering wants me to retake Freshman Engineering Orientation, a zero credit hour course where you pass or fail based on attendance. Except attending every class would only get you 1/3 of the required attendance points. To get the rest you have to attend dumb meetings for engineering-related organizations that, quite frankly, I don't have the time or the will to attend, because they have nothing to do with my discipline. And that's been my problem with the course (and the college of engineering) in general. They have 6 or 7 departments with "engineering" in the title, and they treat Computer Science like, i dunno, some kind of really ugly lamp in the room that you can't get rid of because your great grandma gave it to you before she died.

On top of that, all the sections but like 3 interfere with my schedule of normal classes, which I'd rather attend. As for work, I think next semester's schedule will be better for that, since I have classes ending at 15 minutes before work starts every day (but friday, and I think i'll not work fridays next semester) so I won't have 10 hours of dead time every day. Which, of course, means more time to jerk off do what I like.

Also I promise to write in this thing more because I know how much you guys love to hear about my life.

11:18 pm - Games People Play
okay i probably ought to post to this thing more often.

I bought Bioshock, it's a great game, but it fell victim to Infinite Hype. Sorry Bioshock, but you do have some flaws. However I'd be surprised if it didn't make Game of the Year. If you haven't played it you should.

I've been looking around for career stuff with the university's Career Services department. A company named Acxiom is interested in interviewing, and they looked like a pretty nice company based in Little Rock. Far enough away from home that I wouldn't feel guilty about not coming to every single family function but close enough that I could if I actually wanted to.

I went to the Oklahoma vs Texas game this weekend. I can now die a happy man. I could not have asked for a better day. We evaded almost all traffic, bought our tickets at the gate for way cheaper than we expected to pay, and the rain even quit for the duration of the game. And I bought a silly hat.

I'm gonna buy the orange box this week and will probably play Team Fortress 2 all weekend. Cheers

11:50 pm - She's an easy lover...
The summer is winding down and I'm getting tired. Physical labor is a bitch. My last day is gonna be Thursday night. By then I should have most of the garage painted and anyone who sees it will get like a humongous boner from the super awesome job I did, I am seriously the mack daddy of amateur wall painting.

I'm gonna get an Xbox 360 soon, primarily to play GTA4 when it comes out in March. As soon as I committed to this acquisition, the delay announcement was made the next day. But there are plenty of kickin' rad games that are coming out for it so I'm not too bummed.

In the meantime, I got Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, and enjoyed it about as much as I expected. It's pretty darn buggy though, so for every new thing they brought to the series and did well, they also fucked something up. It was only twenty bux, so it was worth the cost.

FYI my birthday is in about 2 weeks so give me free stuff. I mean it.

10:40 pm - I Don't Know WHETHER the WEATHER will Fucking Suck Balls Today
The weather has been a bitch this week, because I have no fucking clue if it's going to be sunny or rainy or both, and it's impossible to plan my job around it. And it's supposed to do it for the next goddamn week so I don't know what the fuck I'll do. I guess I'll just try to wake up at 6 tomorrow and do everything i planned to do earlier this week. And all the weather websites are useless, telling me that the forecast alternates between "Mostly Sunny" and "Scattered Thunderstorms" every 12 hours, which is ridiculous.

FUCK YOU WEATHER.

10:04 pm - Monthly Update
So I finished my spring semester like a month ago, and get this: i actually passed all my classes for once. With decent grades, even! (FANTASTIC!)

Then I took an Intersession course, and though I haven't gotten the grade back on it, it's pretty likely that it'll be an A.

I'm currently working on painting the Union Parking Garage, and it's a great summer job, as far as manual labor goes. I don't have anyone else to work with so I get to set my own hours, which is awesome. The only unawesome part is that the best time to work is in the mornings, and if you know me, you'll know that I'm not prone to movement or vision in the morning. And in the afternoon, it's fucking hot.

Also the summer is boring, so if you're in the Norman/South OKC area give me a ring and give me something to do. If you don't have any ideas, I'll give you some when I talk to you. But for christ's sake don't make me spend all my time at home.

or aim at me, i'm not picky.

I really really really love Command & Conquer 3. Sawyer from Lost is less of a jackass as a Nod Intelligence Officer than he is on Lost (the most overrated show on television). Dr. Cameron from House, however, is more useless as the GDI counterpart than she is as a doctor.

hahaha i totally stone cold ditched your asses

but i'm back now :D i love you guys too much and your nonexistant comments on my boring life.

i finished my finals last week and i feel really good about all my classes this semester, because i actually went to class all the time instead of sleeping through them or playing games instead or whatever. Now i'm taking an intersession course for the next three weeks to fulfill a nonwestern culture requirement, the class is called "Languages Across Cultures" and there's a lot of reading involved. But this way, I only have to take 12 hours in my final semester (YAY)

I have no idea what i'm going to be doing for most of the semester, or even if i want to get a job or just coast on the funds i earned last semester, since i can automatically go back to my parking garage job at the beginning of next semester.

man i don't even have boring e/n shit to write about, how droll

02:19 am - Now Taking Requests
A thing I used to enjoy doing was making MSPaint images of situations people would describe. Essentially, a person would request a scene and I would draw it, adding in my own flair as my imagination warranted. Many of the results were fantastic but some just sucked.

Well now I'm doing it again!

If you have a request, simply comment with a description of your scene and I will draw it as time allows. I have a fairly full workload until Wednesday-ish so this is open to entries until Wednesday at noon CDT. Not that I'll be anal about entry time.

Some rules: Don't be too specific. That'll remove any potential creativity. At the same time, don't be too vague. Being vague creates too many possibilities and it is too difficult to decide on one. I'll also allow you to tack on an addition to someone else's, provided that it doesn't contradict anything they've mentioned or make it too specific, or isn't just plain retarded. I'm limiting it to two suggestions per person. And I reserve the right to completely ignore your suggestion if I deem it retarded.

11:40 pm - status report
When was my last update, Tuesday? A week ago? Fuck dat noise.

On thursday I lost my wallet so I'm in the process of replacing everything in there. And there's not much in there to worry about, it's not like I have a gojillion credit cards. The only problem is I don't have a lot of time to go around replacing shit left and right. so bel

Going to the gym is fun, and now i've got an actual routine that i'm doing (but i cheated on my squats today :o) Hopefully I'll see some big improvements come may.

I'm not the kind of guy to buy things that come from Japan. Japanophiles annoy and sicken me. The one exception is this Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo manga I found at Barnes & Noble. it is fifteen kinds of awesome spread seven different ways. I hope they end up printing more of them so I can buy and amuse myself with them. Yippee.

07:18 pm - fuck you body
today i apparently decided to wage war on my body.

I started by eating a three egg omelette with ham and onions (delicious!)

then i went to the gym and decided to step it up in terms of the weights i was lifting. Don't eat a lot right before you lift weights, it makes you feel nauseous. :( Today i began doing dead lifts and squats, and will probably do these and bench press every time i go to the gym (three times a week).

Then I decided to work an extra 4 hours to cover for someone. i've almost worked the 6 hours i usually work and i am feeling tired. Unfortunately i have another 4 hours to go.

Sorry body.

11:50 pm - Who Needs Sleep?
I normally do not even have a chance to go with less than 6 hours of sleep on a given day. Today I did 3! I stayed up til 5 am working on an AI project that was due at midnight, and finally finished it today at about 4 pm. It was a lot more hassle than I originally thought, and the result was pretty hokey. But oh well lesson learned moving on.

Two weeks until i finally gets paid and i can stop hoarding every penny i find. I'll still try to cut my expenses, but at least i can stop being a total cheapass. I'm honestly sick of being so damn frugal, mostly because it doesn't feel like me. I'm a decently impulsive guy. Not so much that i buy big-ticket items on a whim like my dad, but I will impulsively buy small things. It's fun!

In other news, the "season premiere" of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo was extremely hilarious. I could not stop laughing. It's always good to lead off a season with a strong episode!

05:59 pm - WEATHER
job sucks this week because of the weather. My fingers got numb from the cold pretty quickly last night, and it wasn't snowing then like it is now. My performance is directly proportional to comfort. I especially make more mistakes when cold, namely typos. So if i can keep my fingers warm then i'll do better. Luckily i've gotten all my recreation done for the day so i can relax and do homework for the rest of the day. Tonight i have AI and Theory of Computation homework lined up, and neither should take me all night. Then i can just do reading/work on tomorrow's recreational time.

What i need is a guide to tell me how to identify when a girl is interested because i am pretty oblivious to such behaviors and it doesn't occur to me until later that some chick might have been interested.

12:35 am - where mah hoez at
so my job is pretty neat, it gives me loads of free time to work on homework (lol ya right) or goof around. Also its cool if people come and hang out with me. there's even a tv. (but it doesn't pick up any channels. It's probably capable of gaming though) the pay's good and it keeps me out of the house. Plus i get to listen to a lot of people complain about the garage rates without having to feel guilty about it at all. Generally i just irc all night, and blog and read forums. its grate!

Also i'll soon have money for food.

now is the part where i complain about my week:
first, i had to get new tires for my car. That was no problem. I couldn't drive my car until I got it aligned, which was slightly inconvenient. I had to drive my mom's crappy 89 chevy blazer, which has more holes in it than the argument for intelligent design. Last night i get home and discover that I have a flat. Drunk mom comes home and yells at me while standing off-balance for half an hour while i ignore her. This morning took it to Firestone to fix the tire, but their policy is not to fix tires if the offending object is outside the outermost treads, which mine was. Thank god they wasted 2 hours of my time! Then I took it to another tire place, who had it fixed in 10 minutes for $6. At this time i have to leave if i want to get to class on time. I show up with 3 minutes to spare and it turns out that class is CANCELED. Thanks for the email, dr. kim. so i basically dicked around all day, wanted to see the departed showing at the union but couldn't because i had to go to work before the first showing was over (and i hate leaving in the middle of a movie).

i really needs me a woman to hug/punch.

09:40 pm - Fresh New Job!
I am posting from my new workplace :D

I work at the union parking garage on campus (for all mah norman palz) I just sit in a booth and take people's money and push them through the gate. The job is characterized as long boring stretches seperated by large bursts of people leaving. There's a considerable amount of organization (all the bills must be facing the same direction, and each ticket has to be seperated by payment method.) It pays pretty well so no argument here. Plus i get to park for free! Besides, what else am i gonna do on weeknights?

Also did i mention i'm learning guitar? I'm not very good at it but i can do some simple shit. It's a fun new hobby! (post comments on some *easy* songs i might be able to learn!)

08:54 pm - duck sauce
Today i had a jones for some chicken parmesan, and this isn't going to go away until i get some goddamn chicken parmesan.

I have been going to the gym for the last two weeks and the only difference is that i weight 3 pounds less. but only going 3 times a week, not much improvement is going to occur over two weeks. I bet by the end of the semester i will be more buff than anyone ever.

I only have one class on fridays, and it has a "that guy," though he's not as bad as some of "those guys" that i've had in the past (and still have in my artificial intelligence class). He has an annoying voice, annoying manner of speaking and super annoying nerdy dress (classic nerd). But like i said, he's not as bad as that guy(s) in my AI class. I'm going to probably punch that one halfway through the semester.

I also have a job where i sit in a booth a parking garage and take money from people who park. I start on tuesday.

05:23 pm - FUN SQUAD 7
today i made my second trip to the gym and my muscles are all hurty. It's good exercise though so i'm gonna keep at it, because i would do nothing else productive during the hour and a half gap between classes on tuesday and thursday. I'm also doing fridays so that i can say i'm going half the week.

I love my AI class, but i also hate it. There's one dork who was in my OS class last semester, and another dork who was in my HCI class last semester, and i want to choke both of them with the other's bowels. Luckily, neither is in my group so i'll live.

I dropped my linear algebra class for financial reasons. fortunately i won't need it for anything i'm taking next semester.

Artificial Intelligence is already my favoritest class this semester, but since there are groups being formed there's always the chance that i will be grouped with some donghole. It happens.

12:42 am - Aneurysm
Today was pretty bad. I had to pick up the slack in two group projects, and will most likely have to do it again for a third tomorrow.

First of all, I had a presentation on General Relativity at 6:30pm today, so that I might pass my physics class. However, my partner, who had the powerpoint with him (and was responsible for presenting the first, more important half of the presentation) decided to go home, eat and SLEEP UNTIL 8 O'CLOCK. Fortunately I managed to convince the instructor to allow us to present tomorrow due to my inability to prepare for such catastrophe.

When I returned home (in quite an irate mood) I found that another partner who was supposed to help me with a poster for our final presentation was MIA. He wasn't in class today and I hadn't received an email from him, so I had to slap together a poster prototype in mspaint.exe to send to the instructor in the morning. I only hope he shows up when we have to create the real deal.

Tomorrow I will have to work on my 4th programming project for Operating Systems, in a group where I frequently let my teammates do all the easy work, then I go fix their glaring errors.
